KINDRED:

 The Prophecy Of The Sun

 

The legend of kindred goes back over 1000 years to the days of the Vikings. The story has been passed through generations of a human who merged with a demon to form the creature known as Kindred (Vinskapr in Old Norse) This creature wreaked havoc over the world with its unknown power. According to legend the creature had two sides of its face; one being its human side and the other being its demon side. It is said that it was sealed away with the power of the solar eclipse and the only way it can be released is with the power of another one.

 

The Human & Demon 

 

The human was a a male known as Balder meaning "bearer of light". He was a normal Viking that lived in a small village who desired peace among all beings; hence the name meaning "bearer of light". One day a invasion broke out in his village which caused him to become grievously wounded. As he was about to die a voice of temptation whispered to him offering him immortality in exchange for half of his body. He took this deal as he thought that it would give him the power to enforce his ideology of peace. However, the demon 

took his passion and corrupted the  mind of Balder and turned his hopes of peace into hopes of carnage and havoc this voice in his head was a demon called liekos which translates to wolf in English.ts primary goal was to become apart of the world of the living to destroy it, and with this deal made between the two; the being known as Kindred was created.

 

This is a legend that has died out as time has passed because a a smaller and smaller amount of people are informed of its existence.

 

The Prophecy Of The Sun

 

When the creature became a problem for the people of the land a female named "Gerd" (enclosed) who was the protector of the city used the power of the sun combined with a forbidden blood magic in order to seal away the creature. However no seal is permanent without restrictions. The consequence of this seal is that if someone who has knowledge of the creature witnesses the solar eclipse then it will be released. Gerd knew this would happen one day so she named it "The prophecy of the sun". That is why the creature is known as "Kindred: The Prophecy Of The Sun".
